Mount George is a 1555 m high mountain in the East Antarctic Enderbyland . It rises just west of Simpson Peak in the Scott Mountains .
It was mapped using aerial photographs taken in 1956 and 1957 as part of the Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions . The name goes back to the British navigator John Biscoe in 1832, who named the mountain after George Enderby, one of the three owners of his employer Samuel Enderby & Sons .
