Mount Giles is a 820 m high and mostly snow-covered mountain on the Ruppert coast of the West Antarctic Marie-Byrd-Land . It is the highest point on the watershed between the lower reaches of the Frostman and Hull glaciers .
Scientists of the United States Antarctic Service Expedition (1939-1941) discovered him during an overflight in December 1940 and named him after Walter Robert Giles (1912-1996), technical officer of the United States Marine Corps and copilot and radio operator on some flights of the research trip .
