Mount Heitō ( Japanese 平 頭 山 Heitō-zan , German 'Flachgipfelberg' ) is a 495 m high mountain with a flattened summit in the East Antarctic Queen Maud Land . On the Prince Harald Coast, it rises north of Mount Minami-heitō at the southeast end of the Langhovde group of hills .
Aerial photographs and measurements of a Japanese Antarctic expedition that lasted from 1957 to 1962 were used to map it. The descriptive naming took place in 1972. The American Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names translated it into English in 1975.
