Mount Herr is a 1730 m high mountain in Marie Byrd Land in western Antarctica . In the Tapley Mountains it rises 8 km northwest of Mount Gould .
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named him in 1967 after Lieutenant Arthur L. Herr Jr. (1932-2011) of the United States Navy , pilot of the VX-6 flight squadron at McMurdo Station in the Antarctic summer months between 1962 and 1963 and from 1963 until 1964.
