Mount Joern is a 2510 m high mountain with numerous ridges in the East Antarctic Victoria Land . It rises 5 km northwest of Mount Bower in the group of the Outback Nunatakker .
The United States Geological Survey mapped it on the basis of its own measurements and aerial photographs of the United States Navy from 1959 to 1964. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1970 after the physician Albert T. Joern, who conducted psychophysiological examinations on the Antarctic winter of 1968 Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station .
