Mount Kane is a 1650 m high mountain in Palmerland on the Antarctic Peninsula . It rises 10 km west-southwest of Squires Peak in the Playfair Mountains .
The United States Geological Survey mapped it based on its own measurements and aerial photographs of the United States Navy from 1961 to 1967. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1968 after Alan Frost Kane (* 1940), a construction mechanic at the Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station in the Antarctic winter of 1964.
