The Squires Peak is about 1,400 meters high mountain in Palmer land on the Antarctic Peninsula . It rises 10 km east-southeast of Mount Kane and marks the eastern foothills of the Playfair Mountains .
The United States Geological Survey mapped it on the basis of its own measurements and aerial photographs of the United States Navy from 1961 to 1967. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1968 after Donald Fleming Squires (* 1927), a biologist who carried out between 1965 and 1966 Research trip on the USCGC Eastwind from Palmer Station .
