The Mount King George is a 3741 m high mountain in the Saint Elias Mountains in Canada's Yukon Territory . In 1935, the mountain was named after them together with the neighboring Mount Queen Mary on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the reign of George V and Queen Mary .
Mount King George is located 21 miles east of Mount Logan . The dominant reference point is Mount Queen Mary ( 3928 m ), 11.3 km north-northeast . The Hubbard Glacier flows in a south-easterly direction between Mount King George and Mount Vancouver , which is almost 20 km south - southeast.
Ascent history
Mount King George was first climbed on April 8, 1965 by Arthur Fitch, Wayne Kellner, Michael Shor and Boyd Everett from the Hubbard Glacier from the southwest.
