The Mount Vancouver is a 4812  m high mountain in the Saint Elias Mountains on the border between Alaska and the Canadian territory of Yukon . Its southern flank is in Glacier Bay National Park in the Panhandle of Alaska and the northern flank in Kluane National Park in southwestern Yukon. The mountain was named in 1874 by William Healey Dall of the US Coast and Geodetic Survey after George Vancouver , who explored the waters of Alaska's southeastern coast from 1792 to 1794.

The 4785  m high secondary peak Good Neighbor Peak is located near the state border, the slightly higher main peak north of it within Canada.

Ascent history

The first ascent took place on July 5, 1949 by William Hainsworth, Alan Bruce-Robertson, Bob McCarter and Noel Odell from Seward Glacier over the northwest ridge.
