Mount Knauff is a little more than 1000 m high mountain on the Pennell coast of the East Antarctic Victoria Land . It looms between the Egeberg Glacier and the mouth of the Dugdale Glacier . Its eastern flank, as well as the rock spur that extends from it towards Robertson Bay , are characterized by the steep slopes typical of the Pennell Coast.
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named him in 2009 after Major General Robert A. Knauff, chief of staff at the New York Air National Guard , who advised the United States Antarctic Program from 2003 to 2009 .
