Mount Malfait is a 2080 m high mountain on the Borchgrevink coast of the East Antarctic Victoria Land . It rises 9 km northwest of Cape Crossfire at the end of a rugged mountain ridge that extends east from the Malta Plateau between the Mariner and Borchgrevink glaciers , where they flow into the Ross Sea .
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named him in 2006 after Bruce T. Malfait (1947-2014), Head of Marine Geosciences in the Department of Oceanography of the National Science Foundation from 2001 to 2006.
