Mount Mogensen is a 2790 m high and snow-covered mountain in the West Antarctic Ellsworthland . It rises 8 km northeast of Mount Ulmer in the northern part of the Sentinel Range of the Ellsworth Mountains and is the highest point of the Gromshin Heights .
The American polar explorer Lincoln Ellsworth discovered him during his transantarctic flight on November 23, 1935. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named him in 1960 after Major Palle Mogensen (1908-1991) of the United States Army , scientific director of the South Pole Station from 1957 to 1958 .
