Mount Nagata is a 2,140 m high mountain in East Antarctic Victoria Land . In the Bowers Mountains, it rises 3 km east of Mount Gow .
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1984 after the Japanese geophysicist Takesi Nagata (1913–1991), a pioneer in the study of paleomagnetism .
