The Mount Newton is a big, hump-like and 1,065 m high mountain with conical peak in the East Antarctic Mac Robertson Land . It is littered with boulders and looms between the Collins and Mellor glaciers in the Fizikov Massif of the Prince Charles Mountains .
The mountain was mapped using aerial photographs taken in 1956 as part of the Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions . The Antarctic Names Committee of Australia (ANCA) named him Geoff Newton, medical officer at Mawson Station in 1960.
