Mount Novak is a 1400 m high mountain in East Antarctic Victoria Land . It rises 1.1 km south of Mount Leland in the Cruzen Range .
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named him in 2005 after Giles Novak from the Faculty of Physics and Astronomy at Northwestern University in Evanston , who was part of the astrophysical team of the United States Antarctic Program at the Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station from 1992 to 2004 .
