Mount Reynolds is a 1130 m high and snow-covered mountain on the Black Coast of the Palmerland on the Antarctic Peninsula . With its steep and rocky slopes, it rises on the south bank of Violante Inlet in the Wegener Range .
Participants of the United States Antarctic Service Expedition (1939–1941) discovered it during an overflight from December 30, 1940. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1947 after the US newspaper editor and explorer Jeremiah N. Reynolds (1799–1858), who between 1826 and 1838 was one of the protagonists of American expansion efforts in the Pacific region and Antarctica .
