The Violante Inlet is an ice-covered bay between Cape Fanning and Cape Herdman at the Black Coast of Palmer Lands on the Antarctic Peninsula .
It was discovered and first photographed during the United States Antarctic Service Expedition (1939–1941) during an overflight in December 1940. The inlet is named after Major (later Colonel ) André Leonard Violante (1894–1968) of the United States Army , who the buildings for which the service's research trip designed and prefabricated.
