Mount Shelton is a 2485 m high mountain in East Antarctic Victoria Land . In the east-central part of the Homerun Range in the Admiralty Mountains, it rises immediately to the west of the upper section of the Rastorf glacier .
The United States Geological Survey mapped it on the basis of its own measurements and aerial photographs of the United States Navy from 1960 to 1963. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1970 after the meteorologist John E. Shelton, who was part of the United States Antarctic Research Program worked on the Hallett station from 1964 to 1965 .
