The Mount Walsh is a 4506 m high mountain in the Saint Elias Mountains in the Yukon Territory in Canada . The mountain was named after James Morrow Walsh, who was superintendent of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) for the Yukon Territory.
The mountain is located about 53 km north-northeast of Mount Logan in Kluane National Park . The dominant reference point is Mount Steele, 18.71 km northwest . The northwest flank is drained by the Spring glacier , the remaining flanks by the Donjek glacier .
Ascent history
The first ascent of the summit was made on August 17, 1941 by Walter Wood, Anderson Bakewell, Jack Jackman and Robert Bates over the west ridge.
