Mount Washburn is a 2725 m high mountain in the West Antarctic Ellsworthland . It rises halfway between Mount Ulmer and Mount Cornwell in the northern part of the Sentinel Range of the Ellsworth Mountains .
He was discovered by the so-called Marie Byrd Land Traverse Party , a team mainly to explore the Marie Byrd Land between 1957 and 1958. This named the mountain after the American geologist Albert Lincoln Washburn (1911-2007), a member of the national United States Committees for the International Geophysical Year .
