Pierre Mustapha "Mouss" Diouf (born October 28, 1964 in Dakar , Senegal , † July 7, 2012 in Marseille , France ) was a French actor .

Life

Mouss Diouf immigrated with his family to Marseille, France, at the age of four. They then moved to the Seine-Saint-Denis department . Diouf was a boxer before taking up acting. In addition to his theater career, he increasingly appeared in smaller supporting roles in several French feature films. From 1992 to 2005 he was inspector N'Guma in the crime series Julie Lescaut , which was also broadcast on German-language television . In the feature film Asterix & Obelix: Mission Cleopatra (2002) he played “Baba”, the pirate in the lookout .

On February 23, 2009, Diouf suffered a stroke with kidney complications. He was taken to the intensive care unit at the Hôpital Lariboisière . On June 27, 2009, he had a second stroke and was put into a coma . For this he was transferred to the Hôpital de la Salpêtrière in Paris . On September 3, 2009, his life appeared to be out of danger and his manager announced on December 21, 2009 that he was in intensive care. On July 6, 2011, after almost two and a half years in the hospital, he was released back home. On March 16, 2012, his wife publicly stated that his condition had not improved.

Mouss Diouf died on July 7, 2012 in Marseille after falling into a coma.
