Mubarek Bekkai
Mubarek Bekkai ( Arabic مبارك البكاي; also M'barek Bekkai ; * 1907 in Berkane , Oujda Province , Morocco ; † April 12, 1961 in Rabat ) was a Moroccan politician and from 1955 to 1958 the first Prime Minister of Morocco .
Life
Bekkai was after the abdication of Sultan Muhammad VI. ibn Arafa on October 15, 1955, member of the throne council, which also included Mohamed El Mokri , Tahar Ouassou Loudyi and Mohamed Sbihi. The throne council was in office until the re-establishment of Sultan Mohammed V on November 6, 1955.
A month later, on December 7, 1955, Mohammed V appointed him the first Prime Minister of Morocco. Bekkai held this office until May 12, 1958 and was then replaced by the previous Foreign Minister Ahmed Balafrej .
