Muhammed Ünlü (born February 15, 1995 in Iğdır ) is a Turkish light flyweight boxer .

Career

Just over 1.60 m tall, Muhammed Ünlü started boxing in 2007 and trains in the boxing department of Fenerbahçe Istanbul under Turgay Karasu and Muhammet Ali Kolu. He was Turkish junior champion in 2010 and 2011 as well as Turkish junior runner-up in 2012 and Turkish youth champion in 2013. His greatest successes to date were 3rd place at the European Junior Championships 2011 in Hungary and 5th place at the 2013 European Youth Championships in the Netherlands . He was also a participant in the 2009 European Schools Championships in Russia , the 2011 Junior World Championships in Kazakhstan and the 2012 World Youth Championships in Armenia .

In the adults (elite class) he became Turkish champion in 2014 and won a bronze medal at the 2015 European Games in Azerbaijan . At the 2015 World Championships in Doha, he lost 2-1 to Brendan Irvine in the round of 16 .

At the European Championships 2017 he reached the quarter-finals and qualified for the World Championships 2017 in Hamburg , where he was eliminated in the second round.
