The film tells the story of 32-year-old Murat Bektas, who was born in Turkey and came to Offenbach at the age of six , where his parents were already living as migrant workers. After completing secondary school and an abandoned motor vehicle apprenticeship, he worked for a while, but in the meantime, despite constant efforts to find work and a permanent position, he is recipient of unemployment benefit II and is considered "difficult to place". After his wife separated from him, Murat still wants to stand by his daughter as a father. In Cologne, where he now lives with his girlfriend Melanie, he finally hopes to find a job again. However, he continues to struggle with disadvantage. Money and family problems and a falling self-esteem lead him, who initially tried to look optimistically into the future despite his hopeless situation, into a serious crisis from which he finally sees only a fatal way out.
