The Murmann Verlag is a German non-fiction publishing, based in Hamburg . The publisher's focus is on the economy, society, career and innovation.

History of the publisher

In 2004, Sven Murmann acquired the Gerling Akademie Verlag in Munich, relocated to Hamburg and changed the company to Murmann Verlag GmbH. Since 2014 the publisher has been operating under the name Murmann Publishers in the legal form of a GmbH . The publisher Sven Murmann is the managing partner.

In January 2012 the Wachholtz Verlag in Neumünster was taken over, in August 2012 the Berlin Osburg Verlag . In April 2015, Osburg Verlag then left the publishing group again.

From February 2012 the magazine Kursbuch was published by Murmann Verlag, after the rights were acquired from Zeitverlag Gerd Bucerius . The Kursbuch and kursbuch.edition have been published by the Kursbuch Kulturstiftung since 2017 .

Since 2013 Murmann Publishers GmbH has been involved in Pink University GmbH, a publisher and platform for training videos in the field of in-house training.

In October 2017, Murmann Magazin started online, which covers content on the programmatic focus on business, society, careers and innovation.

Authors of the publisher

Murmann Verlag publishes up to 40 titles a year. The authors include Thomas Sattelberger , Frank Thelen , Günter Faltin , Armin Nassehi , Michael Hüther , Franz Josef Radermacher , Horst W. Opaschowski , Wolfgang Schmidbauer , Wolf Lotter , Claudia Kemfert , Hans Christoph Binswanger and Miriam Meckel .

Investor Frank Thelen's autobiography, published by Murmann Verlag, was on the non-fiction bestseller list for hardcover books for several weeks.
