Murphy is a city in Collin County in the US state of Texas in the United States .

The city is located in northeast Texas, about 70 km to the north from Oklahoma and has a total area of ​​13.6 km² without any significant water surface.

Demographic data

According to the 2000 census, 3,099 people in 1,030 households and 909 families lived here. The population density was 227.9 inhabitants per km ².
