John Murray "Moe" Henderson (born September 5, 1921 in Toronto , Ontario ; † January 4, 2013 ibid) was a Canadian ice hockey player and coach . On the position of defender, he played in 446 missions for the Boston Bruins in the National Hockey League from 1944 to 1952 .

Life

Moe Henderson played ice hockey with the Toronto Young Rangers in his youth . In 1942 he joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and was stationed on the Pacific coast , where he flew patrols . He was discharged from the Air Force two years later following the death of his father. Following his career in the NHL, he was player-coach for the Hershey Bears for four seasons with play in the American Hockey League .

Moe Henderson is the nephew of the Conacher brothers - Roy Conacher , Lionel Conacher, and Charlie Conacher  - who were all inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame .
