Musikforum: Musikleben im Discourse (initial addition: Live and experience music in Germany and the magazine of the German Music Council ) is a music magazine that has been published by the German Music Council since 2003 and is published quarterly in cooperation with Schott Music . Before that, from 1965, it appeared under the title Deutscher Musikrat: Referate und Informations . In 2008 the magazine was expanded to include the DMR aktuell supplement, and in 2013 the Arpeggio supplement was added. According to its own information, it has a circulation of around 4,000 copies and is widely used at home and abroad. It receives funding from the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media , and it also cooperates with WDR and WERGO . The magazine is dedicated to current developments in music culture, politics and economy. The editions contain the presentation of research approaches, portraits of musicians and institutions and discussions. The current Berlin editor-in-chief is incumbent on the musician and cultural functionary Christian Höppner . Other members of the editorial team include a. Hans Bäßler , Birgit Jank , Helmut Scherer , Rolf W. Stoll and Ulrike Liedtke .
