Mustafa Ulucan (born August 9, 1959 in Adana ) is a former Turkish football player and coach. He played much of his career for Adanaspor and was involved in the runner-up of the first division season 1980/81 during this time , the greatest success in club history.

Player career

society

Ulucan started his professional career in 1979 with the first division side Adanaspor . In his first season for this club he came only to sporadic missions at the beginning of the season and won a regular place towards the end of the season. In total, he was used in ten league games and one cup game. The following season he increased his stakes to 20. His club advanced this season to the surprise team of the season and played for the championship for a long time, but fell from the top of the table towards the end of the season and ended the season as runner-up. This achieved the best first division placement in the club's history. After this very successful season, Adanaspor fell from the top of the table, but Ulucan established himself more and more as a regular player. So he rose to the Turkish national team player in 1982. When his club missed relegation in the summer of 1984 and had to relegate to the Türkiye 2. Futbol Ligi , the then second Turkish league, Ulucan went with the team in the second division.

After Adanaspor could not achieve promotion to the 1st Lig in two seasons , Ulucan moved to the 1986/87 season for the first division club Zonguldakspor . For this club Ulucan played the next two seasons and then relegated with the club. He played half a season for Zonguldakspor in the 2nd Lig and then moved to the second half of the season to 1988/89 for the first division Adana Demirspor , the arch-rival of Adanaspor. For this club he also played two seasons in the 1st Lig and then relegated to the 2nd Lig. With this club he was under contract until the summer of 1991 and was part of the team that became champions in the second division season 1990/91 and thus achieved direct promotion to the first league. With this success he ended his career.

National team

Ulucan's national team career began in 1980 with a deployment for the Turkish U-21 national team . Two years later he was nominated for the first time and for the squad of the Turkish national team in 1982 as part of a test match against the Hungarian national team by national coach Coşkun Özarı and completed his first and only A international match in this game.

In total, he completed five U-21 internationals and one A international.
