My Own Grave is a Swedish death metal band from Sundsvall that was formed in 2001.

history

The band was formed in April 2001. In the following years four demos appeared until the band reached a contract with Karmageddon Media in 2004 . The debut album Unleash was recorded in Tore “Necromorbus” Stjerna's Necromorbus Studio and was produced by Sverker “Widda” Widgren ( Diabolical , Demonical ). The album was released in January 2006. Since the album mostly consisted of songs from the previous demos, the band was already writing new songs. In December 2006, the band toured Europe with Setherial , on which the EP Unholy was sold, which contained the newly written songs. The EP was officially released in March 2007. In the same year, the band went on a tour through Scandinavia with bands like Vital Remains and God Among Insects . In April 2008 the band finished work on their second album. The album Necrology was recorded in the band's studio, Studio Blastbeat in Sundsvall, from September to November 2008. The album was mixed and mastered by Dan Swanö in the Unisound studio . The album was released on July 20, 2010 on Pulverized Records after a slight delay . In February 2010 the band appeared together with Deathbound as a support act on Demonical's European tour. After this, guitarist Stefan Kihlgren left the band.

style

The band plays classic death metal, the music being comparable to that of Demonical , with My Own Grave putting more emphasis on speed, aggression and brutality.
