The hill-me-not ( Myosotis ramosissima ) also Rough Vergissmeinnicht called, is a member of the Borage Family (Boraginaceae). It blooms from April to June.
description
The annual herbaceous plant reaches a height of about 5 to 25 cm. The stem is usually upright and has simple, more rarely branched branches. He is thin, protruding at the bottom, gray-haired more closely above. The leaves are rounded, the basal leaves clearly stalked and arranged in rosettes . The plant has few, elliptical, sessile leaves. The flowers are light blue, very rarely white, and are in simple, leafless wraps . They are about 2 to 5 mm in diameter. The flower stalks are initially upright, then more or less horizontally at the time of fruiting. The flowering period is April to June.
The fruit stalks are more or less as long as the calyx and all without bracts. To distinguish between similar species, the calyx is always open and not closed at the front.
The number of chromosomes is 2n = 48.

Location requirements
The hill forget-me-not grows in sunny sand lawns, on rock heads, on dams and cracks in the earth. It prefers open, warm in summer, dry, base-rich, moderately acidic, mostly poor in humus and fine earth, loose sandy and gravel soils. It also occurs on open loess. It is a character species of the Sedo-Scleranthetea class in Central Europe. But it also occurs in gappy Festuco-Brometea societies.
General distribution
Myosotis ramosissima occurs from the Mediterranean to Scandinavia. It can also be found in NW Africa, on the Canary Islands, as far as Asia Minor and the Urals. It is a sub-Mediterranean-Eurasian floral element. In Austria the species is moderately common in the Pannonian area , otherwise rarely to be found. In Switzerland it is generally scattered.
Distribution in Germany
The hill forget-me-not occurs scattered in northern and central Germany. It is less common to the south.

The hill forget-me-not ( Myosotis ramosissima Rochel ) also has the synonyms: Myosotis aspera Schur , Myosotis hispida Schltdl.
One can distinguish the following subspecies:

- Myosotis ramosissima subsp. gracillima (Loscos & J. Pardo) Greuter & Burdet : She comes in Morocco, Portugal, Spain, France, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Great Britain, Ireland, Belgium, the Netherlands, Greece, Crete, Sardinia and Corsica before.
- Myosotis ramosissima subsp. lebelii (Corb.) Blaise : It only occurs in France.
- Myosotis ramosissima subsp. ruscinonensis (Rouy) O. Bolòs & Vigo (Syn .: Myosotis ruscinonensis Rouy ): It occurs only in France.
- Myosotis ramosissima subsp. tubuliflora (Murb.) Greuter & Burdet : It occurs only in Algeria and Tunisia.
- Myosotis ramosissima subsp. uncata (Boiss. & Balansa) Grau : It occurs in Turkey and Palestine.
