Myrne (Ukrainian Мирне ; Russian Мирное / Mirnoje ; former German name Freudental ) is a village in southern Ukraine in Biljajiwka Rajon in Odessa Oblast with about 2,443 inhabitants.
The northern village of Shyroka Balka (Широка Балка) also belongs to the district council of the same name .
history
The German colony Freudenthal was settled in 1805 on the right bank of the river Baraboj (ukr. Барабой ) by about 36 colonist families from Alsace and the Palatinate , who came via Hungary .
Freudenthal had its own Evangelical Lutheran church, to which Petersthal , Franzfeld , Neu Freudenthal , Carlsthal belonged.
