Myron Magnet (* 1944 ) is an American historian and publicist .

Life

Magnet attended Phillips Exeter Academy . He then studied at Columbia University and the University of Cambridge . After his Ph.D. in English literature he was a lecturer at Columbia University and Middlebury College . During the 1980s he was a member of the Fortune Board of Editors . He also wrote columns for u. a. The Wall Street Journal and The New York Times . From 1994 to 2007 he was editor of the political magazine City Journal .
