Myron Simpson (born July 30, 1990 in Auckland ) is a former New Zealand cyclist who was mainly active on the track .

Athletic career

In 2005, at the age of 15, Myron Simpson won the derby competition at the Oceania Games on the track. In the following year he won five national youth titles in various disciplines of track cycling. In 2007 he was runner-up in the junior world championship in the Omnium and New Zealand junior champion in the sprint .

From 2010 Sympson started in the elite and together with Ethan Mitchell and Andy Williams won the national championship in the team sprint . At the Oceanic Cycling Championships 2011 he won the scratch . In 2013 he became New Zealand champion in two-man team driving with Aaron Gate .

In May 2015, Myron Simpson, who is also active as a youth coach, announced his retirement from active cycling. He cited a lack of motivation as the reason. Simpson started a company that sells Myron's Muesli . The company was originally intended as a crowdfunding to finance his qualification for the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro .
