organization

The structure of n! Faculty is based on professionally operating clubs in classic sports. It consists of a management company ( n! Faculty management GmbH ), which is responsible for marketing and the area of professional e-athletes, as well as a registered association ( n! Faculty eV ), which sees its focus on youth work and popular sports.

In total, n! Faculty unites several hundred computer and video players in more than 20 teams. In the course of the club's history there have been professional sections in the disciplines Counter-Strike, Counter-Strike: Source, Warcraft III, League of Legends and FIFA. One of the greatest successes in the professional field is winning the ESL Pro Series in Counter-Strike: Source at the end of 2007 and second place in Counter-Strike six months later. The Counter-Strike team also took part in the 2008 Electronic Sports World Cup .

A specialty of n! is the great importance of social aspects. The clan is involved in the promotion of young people , in the protection of young people and in imparting media skills . He is also committed to the recognition of e-sports in politics and society .

Naming

According to its own statement, the name of the clan is said to have been borrowed from the English word for the mathematical arithmetic operation faculty . The founders made a mistake here, however, because the correct English term for the mathematical faculty is “factorial”. However, the word "faculty" designates the faculty in the sense of the educational technical field and also means (intellectual) ability.

Clubhouse

On August 6, 2008, the clan n! Faculty opened the world's first e-sports clubhouse in Cologne . Among the guests of honor at the opening ceremony were Cologne's Lord Mayor Fritz Schramma and the North Rhine-Westphalian European and Federal Minister Andreas Krautscheid .

The old-fashioned name club house was chosen deliberately to emphasize the social function as a meeting place for young people. It aims to make e-sports more accessible to the public. In addition, the faculty clubhouse also has classic office and training rooms. The clubhouse received a great response in the media.

Due to a lack of funding, the club closed the clubhouse at the end of 2015.

Sponsors

The clan is sponsored by ENPE Media GmbH and Gamed.de Gameserver.
