The Nuremberg Authors' Scholarship has been a script competition that has been taking place since 1990 , jointly organized by the City of Nuremberg and the Bavarian Broadcasting Corporation .

Goal setting

The aim of the Nuremberg writers' scholarship is to make a contribution to the promotion of up-and-coming screenwriters. Every two years, from around two hundred applications, the top ten are first invited to a second round in Nuremberg. The five scholarship holders are then determined from these. The competition is accompanied by well-known jurors, tutors and speakers. They included Hilde Bechert, Franz Xaver Bogner, Vivien Bronner, Michael Füting, Hans W. Geißendörfer, Claudia Gladziejewski, Ernst Gortner, Egon Günther, Michael Hatry, Thomas Hernadi, Astrid Kahmke, Karla Krause, Angelika Niermann, Monika Peetz, Susanne Petz , Brigitte Schroedter, Claudia Simionescu, Gabriela Sperl, Martin Thau, Egbert van Wyngaarden, Klaus-Peter Wolf, Christoph von Zastrow.

Competition entries (selection)

Successful entries to the competition were, for example, the script doll by Marie Amsler, filmed by Sebastian Kutzli, with Anke Retzlaff and Corinna Harfouch, Der Maulwurf by Dirk Kummer, the script idea 900 degrees by David Fermer, which was already published as a bilingual book for young people under the title "Nonstop BMX" ; the script idea Die Schläpples and I by Catrin Barnsteiner, which was published under the title Miss Schläpples fabulous tax return . Gerhard Faul from Nuremberg shot the feature film Frischfleisch as an auteur filmmaker . In the 100 minute long satire, butcher Piet falls in love with Sabine, a vegetarian and animal rights activist. Fresh meat was shown at three film festivals and was shown in many arthouse cinemas. For the two main actors Christin Balogh and Tobias Rosen , the film marked the beginning of their career as an actor in TV series.
