The NETMA is an existing since 1995 Management Agency NATO . On the part of customers and operators, she is responsible for the development, production and procurement as well as for technical and logistical support during the operation of the Eurofighter and Tornado weapon systems . The user countries Germany , Great Britain , Italy and Spain are represented in it. At the beginning of 2013 it was announced that Saudi Arabia has also had a seat on the committee since 2012.

NETMA is the successor to NAMMA (NATO Multi-Role Combat Aircraft Development and Production Management Agency; from 1987: NATO Multi-Role Combat Aircraft Development, Production and In-Service Support Management Agency) founded in 1969 for the MRCA Tornado and the executive body NEFMO (NATO European Fighter Aircraft Development, Production and Logistics Management Organization) founded in 1987, NEFMA based in Unterhaching . These organizations were each responsible for the development, procurement and operation of the Tornado and Eurofighter weapon systems.

For the engine development of the Eurojet EJ200 , the companies MTU Aero Engines , Rolls-Royce , Avio Aero and Industria de Turbo Propulsores have merged to form EUROJET Turbo GmbH , which is also based in Hallbergmoos .
