HNK Segesta Sisak is a Croatian football club from the city of Sisak . It is the oldest club in Croatia and in this part of Europe that is still active at the same time. The club has played in the second Croatian league since it was promoted again in 2007.

history

Already founded in 1906 under the name NK Segesta Sisak and with the exception of a seven-year period after the Second World War , when the name was renamed Naprijed ( forward ), always competing under this name, the greatest club successes in the former Yugoslavia were three seasons in the second highest league in the country. In 1966/67, 72/73 and 78/79 the ascent was always followed by direct descent.

When the Croatian Football Association broke away from the Yugoslav Football Association, the club received its current name and competed in the second division of independent Croatia. Between 1992 and 1997 Segesta Sisak was a first division club and took part in the 1996 UEFA Intertoto Cup .
