Nach Wriezen is a German documentary from 2012 by Daniel Abma . The film premiered in October 2012 at the DOK Leipzig documentary film festival, shown at all relevant documentary film festivals in 2013 and received multiple awards.

content

The film follows three young people who committed criminal offenses - including one of the perpetrators in the murder of Marinus Schöberl - from the day they were released from the Wriezen JVA over a period of three years and shows the difficult process of rehabilitation.

In his film, the director asks existential questions about today's society, about the prerequisites for a successful life and whether former convicts will ever be able to free themselves from the stigma of a "knacki".

criticism

"A courageous long-term observation of the difficulties of a new start and the latent potential for violence in a society."

- Film service 2012

“There is a frivolous-realistic arc of suspense over the film, thanks to our view of society: Who will really get out? Abma does not use this voyeurism, rather it gives an impression that the struggle that is called rehabilitation suffered heavy defeats much earlier. "
