The Nagoya Dome is a ballpark in the Higashi-ku district of Nagoya , Japan . The stadium, spanned with a geodesic dome , is the home ground of the Chūnichi Dragons from one of Japan's two professional baseball leagues, the Central League .

The Nagoya Dome opened on March 15, 1997 and is mainly used for baseball games and concerts. The Chūnichi Dragons from the Central League have played their home games in the stadium since it opened in 1997. In addition, the now merged Orix BlueWave and Kintetsu Buffaloes from the Pacific League played regularly a few times a year in the Dome.

For other events, the “thrower hill” can be sunk into the ground.

Well-known musicians and bands that have given concerts in the Nagoya Dome include Billy Joel , Bon Jovi , BTS , Celine Dion , Aerosmith , Queen + Paul Rodgers , Wayne Shorter , Steve Barakatt and Luciano Pavarotti .
