Local transport S-Bahn Bogotá

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The old Sabana station in Bogotá is the start and finish point of the S-Bahn project in the Bogotá metropolitan region .

The transport train from Bogotá ( Spanish Tren de Cercanías de Bogota ) is an infrastructure project to build a mass transit network that the Colombian nine-million metropolis Bogota with the surrounding cities of Departamento de Cundinamarca connects. This S-Bahn is to replace the former railroad of the Bogotá savannah . The main corridors of the 110 km long planned rail network are to reach the north, south and especially the west of the metropolitan region of Bogotá when they are completed.

prehistory

Every day, vehicles jam in many places in the capital Bogotá.

Mobility in the Bogotá region is becoming more and more difficult and is currently one of the most pressing problems the region has to deal with. Hundreds of thousands of commuters are faced with situations every day that do not allow them to achieve their jobs and destinations without delays in the capital. On the one hand, there is the poor condition of the road network - the result of poor traffic planning - and on the other hand delays in necessary road renovations. The reasons for this are the massive increase in cars, trucks, buses, motorcycles and the poor functionality of traffic lights .

The commuter train project , also known as the Regiotram, is one of the most ambitious projects in Colombia in terms of transport at the moment , alongside the Bogotá metro . In the future, the S-Bahn will run from Sabana station to Facatativá , Mosquera , Funza , Madrid (in the west), Soacha (in the south) and Zipaquirá (in the north). As part of Innotrans 2018, the world's most important trade fair for transport technology in Berlin , the governor of Cundinamarca, Jorge Rey, presented the transport project in 2018. In this context, the German rail infrastructure company Vossloh and two other companies have submitted proposals for realizing the project.

realization

After the local politicians recognized the problem, the decision-making process has now progressed so far that the first contracts could be signed in late 2018. The most urgent route will be the one to Facatativá with 19 stops (including the new El Dorado II building and Bogotá airport ) and transfer options to the future Bogotá metro . The driving time for 41 kilometers is 48 minutes. Around 200,000 passengers will then be able to use the connection daily from 2021. The connections to Zipaquirá and Soacha will be realized in the further expansion of the local S-Bahn.
