Nalagarh ( Hindi : नालागढ़ , Nālāgaṛh ) is a small town ( Municipal Council ) with about 10,000 inhabitants in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh .

Nalagarh is located in the Solan Administrative District . The city lies on the southern slope of a Siwalik chain at an altitude of 435  m . 15 km to the west, the Satluj flows in a southerly direction.

Nalagarh was the capital of the former princely state of Nalagarh .

The climate in Nalagarh is subtropical . In the summer months of July and August, during the monsoon season , most precipitation falls. The average annual precipitation is 1176 mm. The annual mean temperature is 23.5 ° C.

Palace / fortress
