The Naltar is a right tributary of the Hunza in the Pakistani special territory of Gilgit-Baltistan .

The Naltar is created at the glacier mouth of the Shani Glacier . It flows in a south-easterly direction through the extreme west of the Karakoram . The river is eponymous for the Naltar Valley , which it flows through. The valley is flanked to the east by a mountain range with the peaks Chari Khand , Mehrbani Peak and Snow Dome . Shani Peak rises to the west . For the lower 28 km, a strait follows the course of the river. The Naltar finally flows into the Hunza above the village of Nomal , 20 km above its mouth into the Gilgit . The Naltar has a length of 35 km.
