Namuka-i-Lau is an elongated island of volcanic origin in the Lau Archipelago in the Pacific Ocean . Politically, it belongs to the Eastern Division of the island state of Fiji .
geography
Namuka-i-Lau is located in the south of the Lau Archipelago, 33 km northeast of Kabara , 35 km north of Fulaga and 30 km southwest of Moce . It is 6.5 km long, up to 1.5 km wide and has an area of around 5 km². The densely forested island is completely surrounded by a coral reef except for a section in the northwest and reaches a height of 79 m above sea level. The only village, Namuka , which administratively belongs to the traditional Kabara district of the Lau province, lies on the striking bay in the south of the island .
