Nantenin Keïta (born November 5, 1984 in Bamako , Mali) is a French - Malian athlete who mainly participates in Paralympic sprint competitions in the T13 category . She is the daughter of the Malian musician Salif Keïta and thus a direct descendant of the founder of the Malian Empire , Sundiata Keïta . Like her father, she was born with albinism and is visually impaired .

Life

She took part in the 2008 Summer Paralympics in Beijing, China. There she won a silver medal in the women's 200-meter T13, won a bronze medal in the women's 400-meter T13, came fourth in the women's 100-meter T13 and came fourth in the women's long jump F13.

She also won bronze at the London 2012 Summer Paralympics in the 100m T13.

At the 2014 European Disabled Athletics Championships in Swansea , she won the gold medal in the women's 400-meter T13. The next year she followed her European success with two medals at the 2015 World Athletics Championships for the Disabled in Doha . She won silver in the T13 over 100m and took gold over 400m to add the world title to her awards. At the European Athletics Championships for the disabled in Grosseto in 2016 , she successfully defended her 400 m title and also added the 100 m title.
