Bowl (unit)

Napf was a Bavarian measure of the volume of grain that was particularly common in the Palatinate and Franconia . The measure was used for milk in the Austrian Zillertal .

Zillertal

  • Milk 1 bowl = 3 measure = 4.2 liters : The measure could be divided into measure and half. The Fraggele or bowl also had 2.3 liters and was divided into 16 spoons.
    • 1/32 bowl = 1 car / char

Nabburger measure

  • 1 bowl = 0.375 Metzen (Bavarian.)
  • Wheat 8 bowls = 1 eighth = 96 measure
  • Oats, barley 9 bowls = 1 eighth = 108 measure

Kemnather measure

  • Oats , barley 12 bowls = 1 eighth = 144 measure

Pfreim the measure

  • Wheat 8 bowls = 1 eighth = 100 measure
  • Oats, barley 9 bowls = 1 eighth = 150 measure

Valais

  • 4 bowls = 1 Fischel (old) = 25 liters
  • 4 bowls = 1 Fischel (new) = 20 liters

In other places ( Naters ) the Fischel could be 16 to 16.8 liters
