Napoleon is a city in Henry County , Ohio , United States and is located on the Maumee River . At the 2000 census , the city had a total population of 9,318. Napoleon is the county seat of Henry County.

history

Napoleon was founded in 1834. In 1840 the place had 300 inhabitants, in 1880 already more than 3,000. The main reason for the growth was the completion of the Miami-Erie Canal and the connection to two railway lines that ran through the place.

Attractions

Located in the Historic District, the Henry County Courthouse is on the National Register of Historic Places. The building was erected in 1880 and is considered a landmark.
