Henry County is a county in the state of Ohio in the United States . The county seat is Napoleon .

The county is located almost in the far northwest of Ohio, is about 30 km to the north from the Michigan border and has an area of 1,088 square kilometers, of which nine square kilometers are water. It is bordered clockwise by the following counties: Fulton County , Lucas County , Wood County , Putnam County , Defiance County , Williams County, and Hancock Counties .
history
Henry County was formed from parts of Shelby County on February 12, 1820 and finally organized in 1834. It was named after Patrick Henry , first and sixth governor of Virginia and a significant figure in the American Revolutionary War .
Four buildings in the county are listed on the National Register of Historic Places (as of April 24, 2018).

According to the 2000 census , Henry County had 29,210 people in 10,935 households and 7,960 families. The population density was 27 people per square kilometer. The racial the population was composed of 95.33 percent white, 0.58 percent African American, 0.26 percent Native American, 0.42 percent Asian and 2.56 percent from other ethnic groups; 0.85 percent were descended from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 5.40 percent of the population.
Of the 10,935 households, 35.2 percent had children and young people under the age of 18 living with them. 61.1 percent were married couples living together, 8.1 percent were single mothers, 27.2 percent were non-families, 23.5 percent were single households and 10.4 percent had people aged 65 years or over. The average household size was 2.62 and the average family size was 3.10 people.
For the entire county, the population was composed of 27.6 percent of residents under 18 years of age, 8.2 percent between 18 and 24 years of age, 28.1 percent between 25 and 44 years of age, 22.1 percent between 45 and 64 years of age 14.0 percent were 65 years of age or over. The median age was 36 years. For every 100 females there were 97.6 males. For every 100 women aged 18 or over there were statistically 93.6 men.
The median income for a household in the county is $ 42,657 , and the median income for a family is $ 49,881. Males had a median income of $ 35,901 versus $ 24,076 for females. The per capita income was $ 18,667. 5.3 percent of families and 7.0 percent of the population are below the poverty line. Of these, 9.9 percent were children or adolescents under 18 years of age and 4.2 percent were people over 65 years of age.
