Narlıkuyu Bay

Narlıkuyu (Turkish for pomegranate fountain ), former name Tatlı Su (Tasty Water) is a municipality on the Turkish south coast, about 25 km east of Silifke and two kilometers west of Kızkalesi in the Mersin province . Since a regional reform in 2014, the place is no longer a municipality, but a district of the district town of Silifke.

Narlıkuyu has 2798 inhabitants (2010), Ali Okur has been the mayor since 2004. The former fishing village lives mainly from tourism. In addition to several fish restaurants, it is particularly worth mentioning an ancient bathhouse, which, under the name Narlıkuyu Mosaik Müzesi (Narlıkuyu Mosaic Museum), shows the mosaic of the three graces as the only exhibit . In the immediate vicinity are the Koryk Caves (Cennet ve Cehennem) in the north and on the same route, 2.5 kilometers further, the church of Hasanaliler and one kilometer west of the church the Roman manor Keşli . The underground river coming from there flows into the Mediterranean Sea, which leads to brackish water deposits in some bays in the area .

In ancient times the place was the port for Korykion Antron and the places on the road leading to Olba via Hasanaliler . In the Pisan nautical chart of 1300 it is referred to as p. calamie listed.
