Nassenwil is a village in the municipality of Niederhasli in the Dielsdorf district of the canton of Zurich in Switzerland .
Nassenwil is about 2.5 km from Niederhasli and about 0.5 km from the Dielsdorf - Regensdorf thoroughfare . The village consists of a few farms and in 1997 the first single-family house development with the name "Haberholz residential park" was built. In 2008, a total of 259 inhabitants lived in Nassenwil in 70 buildings and 84 apartments.
Until 1927/28 Nassenwil was a separate civil parish in Niederhasli. Nassenwil also had its own small school house. The building still exists today, but has been converted into a residential building.
Thanks to its favorable location for car traffic, Nassenwil is an increasingly popular place to live, which is still in a quiet valley despite the aircraft noise. The place can be reached by public transport from Monday to Friday with a call taxi. This runs every hour and serves Nassenwil and Niederhasli train station.
Plane crash
Became known Nassenwil by the accident of Crossair Flight 498 , a Saab 340 of Crossair on 10 January 2000. The machine - en route from Zurich to Dresden - crashed shortly after takeoff about 500 meters north of the village on a field, all 7 passengers and 3 crew members were killed. A memorial was erected at the accident site.
